Hemlock Grove is Less than Perfect

If you haven't heard about Netflix's original series, Hemlock Grove, you shouldn't feel too bad. The show, I hate to say it, lacks originality and is filled with awkward acting and less than stellar storytelling. I'm not sure how they could have gotten this show so wrong, I mean, who doesn't love werewolves and upirs (Russian vampires that can withstand daylight)? I tried watching the first season and I became so painfully bored,  I just couldn't make myself finish it. I am incredibly disappointed that this show sucks, especially with seasoned actors like Famke Janssen (X-men), Dougray Scott (Mission Impossible II) on its cast. However, the show is directed by Eli Roth (The Hostel), a director whose work has never done anything for me.

Werewolf transformation

As mentioned earlier, Hemlock's storyline is terribly banal and consists of confused upirs, rowdy angst-filled werewolves, supernatural creature hunters, and freaky scientific experiments. I don't really have much more to say about the show except that perhaps I'll try to finish it...probably not though. Have you watched the entire series? Is it worth finishing because it gets better? Let me know! Cheers!
