So, the first photo of Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) as Aquaman was released yesterday, and he looks amazing! Never have I seen Aquaman look so badass! I love the incorporation of tattoos and dreadlocks in this vision of the watery DC Comic superhero. The funny thing about Aquaman, is that, well, comic book enthusiasts tend to really hate the guy. The mention of Aquaman in nerd inspired conversations often garners some serious snickering. Aquaman just can't compete with other comic book characters, like Wolverine or the powerful Superman. Frankly, he just never came off as a badass and played second fiddle to other members of the Justice League (of which he was a member).
Yet, this photo of Momoa as Aquaman is the perfect interpretation of the Atlantean hero. He looks tough, tormented, sexy, and tattooed in the most exciting manner (Hmm). It actually has me looking forward to the character's introduction in the 2016 Batman versus Superman movie. What do you think? Does this Aquaman interest you? Can Momoa give the character the oomph that is needed to catapult Aquaman into a world of serious super heroes?
