Ok folks, this blog entry is going to be somewhat of a downer. This summer has been extremely disappointing for Sci-Fi movies. There, I said it. Now don't get me wrong, Star Trek Into Darkness was ok and some people absolutely loved Man of Steel, but these films just don't have that breathtaking and hair raising feel to them. Where is my space opera? That intrinsic taste of interstellar space? Where is the novelty, the imagination, the f$cking intelligence and philosophical pondering of the unknown? I feel like movies of note, while I did like them, specifically Star Trek Into Darkness, lack chemistry. It's like going on a date and realizing that a person has it all together, is nice, but there isn't any sparks, no desire to go on a second date because the chemistry is missing. That's why I'm begging the nerds of Hollywood for some passion, something on the scale of a space opera, something I can fall in love with. Please.
