Net Neutrality or Keep Yer Mitts offa My Internets

The Internet is a wonderful thing. It allows the masses the opportunity to express themselves using a medium that, for the most part, is hard to control and manipulate. Sure, you shouldn't believe everything you read or see on the web, as anyone can upload a lie and advertise it as truth. And yes, there is a sinister, dark side to having a virtual highway of information that inherently is hard to control, and there should be some policing of sites that are exploitive and disgusting. Yet, there is something beautiful about having access to information that competes on a even playing field; the Internet is classless, coporate-less and ethic-less, its virtually a data f#ck spewed onto virtual highways ending in .com.

This could all change as the FCC has gotten the idea to create bandwidth hierarchies; it would allow cable companies to charge website a fee to have better bandwidths. In other words, if you want premium Internet representation, you gotta pay. This could result in a monopolization of the web, with top dogs getting the best lanes of the virtual highway, with guys like us getting buried within the lowest tiers of virtual representation. That's why net neutrality should be made into law, ensuring that the web is an equal playing field for everyone.
