Top Five Quirky Science Fiction Movies/Shows

Everybody has a vice. Some of us enjoy a chocolate bar on occasion while others secretly watch Gossip Girl while drinking cosmos after a day of playing grownup at the office. Others, like myself, watch super hokey, and sometimes dated, science fiction films or shows whilst giggling maniacally and drinking copious cups of earl grey tea. Here's a list of science fiction "comfort food" films/shows you hate to love:

5). Lexx: Highly inappropriate (the sexual innuendo are out of control), with cheesy set designs and unlikable characters, Lexx follows the journey of the last Brunnen-G and his shipmates.

4). Farscape: This show provides political intrigue, wacky characters and a slightly cowboy mentality as the crew of the Moyo evades the clutches of the Peacekeepers.

3). Defiance: The first season of Defiance is being aired on the SyFy network and looks at the inter-species workings of a future Earth characterized by terrafarming, alien wildlife, inter-species settlements, cocky lawmen and feisty humanoid side kicks. Low budget, but in a good way.

2). Tremors: Worms, horror, science, gun toting handymen and seismology graduate students is just the beginning of this campy piece of fun.

1). Firefly: This space western follows a space faring scavenging crew lead by a hard as nails captain with a penchant for doing the right thing. Kinda campy, but oh, so good!
