July Release of Mech Extravaganza "Pacific Rim"

If you are a fan of Japanese animation and have a special place in your heart for mechs, then you might enjoy Pacific Rim. It's not a Japanese film but its trailers have a sort of  Escaflowne-ish feel to them. Directed by Guillermo del Toro (he did Pan's Labyrinth and HellBoy), Pacific Rim appears to be an ode to Japan's cinematic era of giant monsters, alien invasions and giant robots. Film is slated for release on July 13, 2013.
